Harry Potter's SEOThere are a lot of person's out there who will want you to believe they have Harry’s Potter magic wand, and can make your site appears within the first pages of a particular Search Engine, in a matter of days. Well unless they are willing to pay for having the site enter into a sponsored link (pay per click) scheme, in which they are going to spend serious money, then I’m afraid they are lying to you. The process which makes the system work is a very delicate one. Some Search Engines will penalize a site who is not guiding itself ethically, and some others will even vanish your site if your “SEO Specialist” turns out to be a little more than a fraud. There are a lot of “Magical” techniques out there, and some might even work for a little amount of time, but most will fail to pass the test of time, and as fast as you get the site listed, you will get banned. So the only solution is to make ethical Search Engine Optimization. And that means time. Some people will try to pressure you by telling you they need to get results fast, well that is not going to happen. You need to be sure to know, before engaging into any SEO effort, that you know it’s a timely process. The question is not if you can afford the time it takes to reach a position, the question is if you can afford, not making the effort each time, to have the site positioned within the firsts places of the Search Engines. Understand that even when you have gotten the desired results, there are hundreds if not thousands of professionals trying to get to the same position you have. There are thousands of contestants, but only 10 places on each first page of a search engine. This is a never ending process where only the eternal vigilance of all SEO rules will bring your site to the promised land, and no magic wand will take you there without your share of sweat. |
