Search Engine Optimization - The means to an end.

Search Engine Optimization or SEO is a substantial part of SEM. The SEO has been looked for a long time as a bad procedure by several webmasters, first because it bonds them to use adequate design – programming techniques, and next because it means a third party will scrutinize the website to see if it’s worth listing or not.

In addition is very hard to master all the fine points of this technique that changes every single day, and while some sites get listed almost immediately, some others never makes it to the list.

Furthermore, it’s very important where you rank in the Search Engine, let’s face it no one really goes more than the third page to search for sites, if you are going to a fourth page (less in some cases) and you haven’t found what you are looking for, either you change your search term, or you change your search engine.

Search engines, doesn’t want customers to leave their site, so they try to give the best possible results according to the search term you entered. Having human beings that actually review the sites can be tedious and expensive, and sometimes partial.

A guy that is reviewing its 100th site of the day is more likely to make a bad judgment call, than if it’s the first one he reviews. And that is if the guy is reviewing 100 sites a day, but in reality for every site a user can review, 100 pops up to life in the Internet.

That is why Search Engines has to recur to robots to surf the net for them. These robots are called spiders. They surf the net with some parameters pre-established, and when they go to a webpage, and find the correct information, they tend to list the sites, above others in their search terms into the search engines.

These parameters are met by hard work, and a meticulous revision of each and every page of the website. This process is called Search Engine Optimization or [SEO]. However it’s neither an easy nor a simple task.

Search Engine Spiders will go to your website once every 3 weeks so any change you might do, won’t be visible at least for 4 weeks, and believe me, having a four week period of waiting to see if the change you did, actually made a difference its long.

However  the payback is that once you have optimized your page, that by the way, it’s normally optimized only for 1 search term, it will rank above all others in the Search Engines, which in turns increase your traffic, and lets you get more customers, so the effort is well worth it.
